1. Overview

Horus Index Visibility Lab is an experimental toolkit operated from Denmark (Aarhus). The GEO Visibility Checker analyzes publicly available web pages to surface structural and content signals that may affect visibility in AI answers and answer engines. For purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Horus Index is the data controller for personal data processed through this site.

2. Information you provide

When you use the GEO Visibility Checker, you provide a URL for analysis. The tool fetches that page and inspects on-page structure, headings, schema, and other technical signals. The intention is to work with publicly accessible information.

3. How analysis data is used

Analysis results are generated to display back to you in the interface. The tool is not designed to permanently store the page content it inspects. However, server logs and temporary technical data (such as IP address, browser information, error messages, or performance metrics) may be collected to improve reliability, secure the service, and understand usage. These logs are generally kept for up to 12 months, unless a longer period is required to investigate abuse or security issues or to comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-party services

To operate this lab, third-party infrastructure providers may be used to fetch or analyze pages and to host the GEO tools. These services may receive the URL you submit and associated technical information needed to perform the analysis.

In particular, the backend API used by the GEO Visibility Checker is hosted by Render (geo-checker-xcx6.onrender.com). Hosting and DNS providers, as well as email providers, may also process limited personal data (for example IP address, log data or contact details) strictly for the purpose of delivering and protecting the service.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Horus Index uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to run this site, keep the GEO tools reliable, and protect against abuse. These may include cookies or similar identifiers set by hosting and infrastructure providers for security, load balancing, or rate limiting.

The lab does not currently use analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated and, where required, consent will be requested before any non-essential cookies are set.

6. Data retention

URL inputs and generated analysis results are processed in real time to return your report and are not intended to be stored permanently. Server logs and technical data related to the functioning of the tools are generally kept for up to 12 months, unless a longer retention period is required to investigate security incidents, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.

If you contact Horus Index by email, your message and contact details will be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and maintain a record of the correspondence, typically no longer than 24 months unless a longer period is required by law.

7. Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the EU, EEA, UK, or another region with similar data protection laws, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal data, subject to applicable law. These include:

• The right to access the personal data held about you.
• The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• The right to request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances (“right to be forgotten”).
• The right to request restriction of processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
• The right to data portability, where technically feasible.
• The right to object to processing based on legitimate interests in certain circumstances.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, for example Datatilsynet in Denmark, if you believe your rights have been infringed.

8. International data transfers

Because the infrastructure providers used for hosting, logging, and email may be located outside the EU/EEA, your personal data may be transferred to countries that do not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction (for example, the United States). Where such transfers occur, Horus Index relies on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms, or on the fact that the transfer is necessary to provide the requested service.
